Privacy Policy

People Finder is an image search engine that uses a photo to find possible visual matches on publicly accessible webpages. This policy explains what happens to your data.

Photos and face search

Photo selection, cropping, and initial face detection happen on your device. When you explicitly start a search, the cropped photo is transmitted securely through our Cloudflare service to FaceCheck.ID for processing. FaceCheck.ID may compare the photo against public-web images and return possible matches, thumbnails, public links, similarity scores, and technical search information.

People Finder does not claim that a possible match identifies a person. You must review results independently.

Authorization

Only submit your own photo or a photo you have written authorization and lawful authority to use. The app identifies FaceCheck.ID before transmission and requires an intentional search action.

History and storage

Completed-search history is stored locally on your device and excluded from device backup. Deleting a history item removes its app-managed source image, thumbnail, and result metadata. Clearing history removes all app-managed search history.

Our search service does not intentionally retain submitted face photos or returned result URLs in its support records. Limited operational records may include an anonymous app account reference, search time, route, status, result count, credit balance, error category, and provider search reference.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. They may process transaction identifiers, product identifiers, purchase dates, storefront information, and the app-generated purchase account identifier needed to grant and reconcile search credits. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.

Analytics

We use Aptabase for limited aggregate product analytics. Analytics events may include actions such as app open, photo selection, paywall view, purchase outcome, search outcome, and result count. Aptabase never receives your photo, facial geometry, search image, result identities, result links, result sources, similarity scores, or private search-account credentials.

Service providers

• Apple processes App Store purchases.
• RevenueCat supports purchase validation and credit reconciliation.
• Aptabase provides privacy-focused aggregate analytics.

Children and prohibited use

Do not submit photos of minors. Do not use People Finder for harassment, stalking, surveillance, identification claims, or decisions about employment, housing, credit, insurance, safety, legal matters, finances, or eligibility.

Your choices

You can cancel before starting a search, decline photo or camera access, delete individual searches, clear all local history, or remove the app. Once a provider search has begun, processing already in progress may not be immediately cancellable.
